CORE

UGSD Foundations

The smallest working architecture currently retained by the project.

CORE

1. Zero-Distinction Baseline (ZDB)

ZDB is the reference state relative to which realized relational distinctions are represented. It is not identified in advance with a classical medium, an ether, a lattice, or any specific quantum-vacuum ontology.

CORE

2. Event

\[E=(+,-)\]

The signs are orientation/accounting labels within one complete compensated event; they are not assumed to be two independent particles or substances.

CORE

3. Unit relational accounting

\[E_{ij}: n_{ij}\mapsto n_{ij}+1,\qquad n_{ij}\in\mathbb N_0\]
\[r_i=\sum_j n_{ij}-\sum_j n_{ji}\]

Local residuals can be non-zero. The global accounting remains compensated.

CORE

4. Compensation

Compensation is first an accounting constraint. It should not be silently reinterpreted as a classical force or a familiar field unless that effective description is independently derived.

CORE

5. Compatibility

\[C_{n+1}\in\mathrm{Compat}(C_n)\]

Not every formal configuration is realizable. Compatibility restricts how relational states can compose. The principle is CORE; the full compatibility calculus remains open.

CANDIDATE

6. Minimal generative successor relation

\[U_0(C)=\{C'\in\mathrm{Compat}(C): Q_{\mathrm{global}}(C')=0\}\]

This relation defines admissible continuations without requiring a separate fundamental single-path selection law.

Status language used across the site

CORE

Minimal retained assumptions or definitions.

DERIVED

Follows from the retained structure or a specified mathematical representation.

EFFECTIVE CLOSED

Mechanism is closed at the coarse-grained level needed for physical use.

CANDIDATE

Strong working result that remains under formal or empirical closure.

CALIBRATION

Measured bridge between UGSD variables and SI/known physics.

OPEN

Genuinely unresolved issue.
